It’s been some time since I’ve written a post so I have lots to share. I won’t do it all in this one. I will span them out over two or three posts. Buckle up and get ready for my rollercoaster ride.

When I last left you, it had only been 30 days since graduation and I was still looking for employment. As more days had passed, I became more frustrated with finding a job. I spent hours upon hours searching and looking at job openings. There were many openings that I didn’t apply to because I felt that I wasn’t qualified for the position.

As 90 days approached, I needed to make a decision on which way I was going to go with my career. I had many discussions with my family on what I would like to do and if we could survive with a decision I was about to make regarding my career. What was that big decision? I quit my job!

I was still working the same job from when I had started the Careers in Code program. I wasn’t getting any further ahead and I wanted to change that. I made the decision to quit my job and start my own business. What was the worst thing that could happen?

As it turns out, it was a great decision for me. I was able to focus on looking for employment as a developer, work on my website, start the process on forming my own business and start a podcast.

By taking the road that most would say was harder, it actually was the best road for me. It allowed me to explore other options and start new adventures that would be fun and challenging.

After doing all of that, did I ever find a job? Well, stay tuned to find out as I tell you more about the new adventures I was starting.
